BIOGIS360 is much more than a technical application. It was created with a specific vision: to make biodiversity observable, measurable and manageable thanks to technology.

It is a platform designed for those who have to make decisions about the territory, for those who work in research and the environment, for those who want to build a more balanced future between nature and development.

It is the answer to a real need: to transform complex data into simple tools that help to protect biodiversity in a concrete way and guide decisions on the ground.

We know that biodiversity loss is one of the most serious crises of our time, as it is rapid, silent and often invisible.

Words and good intentions are not enough to tackle it: reliable data, accessible tools and shared knowledge are needed.

It is not a closed product, but an evolving platform, built with those who work every day in the field, among habitats, maps, regulations and responsibilities.

BIOGIS360 responds to this need.

And it does so with a scientific, open and international approach.

An Italian project with a global reach
BIOGIS360 was created in Italy, but its sights are set beyond the country’s borders.

It is designed to be scalable and replicable anywhere: currently operating on a national scale, it can be quickly adapted to European and international territories.

It uses open geospatial standards, integrates data from authoritative sources such as Copernicus and can interface with global environmental regulations and strategies.

It is a useful tool for those working at a local level, but also for those working on European projects, cross-border strategies and international conservation networks.

The team that made it possible

The project was conceived and implemented by three Italian organizations united by a common vision: technology, knowledge and sustainability must work together to produce real impact.

IPTSAT Srl

National leader in the field of remote sensing, GIS systems and geospatial data integration.
It coordinates the technical and scientific development of BIOGIS360, ensuring the reliability of sources, the quality of processing and methodological consistency with the highest European standards.

Maticom Srl

A technology company focusing on web development, AI and digitalization for public administrations and SMEs.
It oversaw the platform architecture, user interface, data pipeline and integration of predictive models, making the system powerful yet easy to use.

Switch Engineering Srl

Consultancy firm specializing in projects for ecological transition, environmental innovation and participatory planning.
Contributed to defining functional requirements, real use cases and platform validation in operational contexts.

Included in the European framework for biodiversity

BIOGIS360 is part of the National Biodiversity Future Centre (NBFC), one of five National Centres promoted by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

The project is co-funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU and responds to the most advanced global environmental challenges.
